PLASTIC cups and plates will be banned on Mallorca from 2020. 
The items, including plastic crockery, will be prohibited by the new law being presented by the environment ministry.
At the start of 2019, shops will be forbidden from selling lightweight plastic bags for single usage.
Only the bags used to buy fruit and vegetables in will be permitted.
The law has been a year in the making and contains 62 articles.
Disposable items which are biodegradable will not be banned.
