FLAMINGO parents at the Fuente de Piedra lagoon have welcomed more than 13,000 hatchlings into their colony this year.
The baby flamingos will be inspected, measured and fitted with identification rings by more than 425 volunteers beginning on August 8.
Vets will be on hand to treat any sick or injured flamingos.
Since 1986, nearly 190,000 flamingos have been born at the nature reserve, located about an hour north of Malaga city.
