MORE people having unprotected sex has lead to a rise in HIV/AIDS in Malaga.

There are currently 4,000 people being treated for HIV/AIDS in Malaga with 148 new patients registered since January 2013.

The Junta de Andalucia’s health councillor said: “The fear of the illness has been lost and there has been a relaxation in safe sex.”

According to the Anti-AIDS Association in Malaga, 509 new cases of HIV have been recorded in Andalucia in the past two years, with 350 of them diagnosed last year.
