ELECTRIC cars assembled in Spain are being shipped to Japan as the country expands its imports from Europe.

Spain has become a major international advocate of electric vehicles with Nissan launching their first range of electric taxis in Madrid.

Nissan have now begun importing the e-NV200 electric vehicle from Spain to Japan as European companies crack the Japanese market.

Asian stockbrokers Nikkei see the move as a ‘sign that Japanese companies are increasing their global production systems’.

Nissan’s Barcelona-based production plant is the only one in the world to produce the new electric car and is the manufacturer’s second venture into the electric vehicle market.
