CAR hire giant Europcar is introducing electric cars to its Spanish fleet in a bid to become more environmentally-friendly.
Renters in Madrid and Barcelona can already drive off in the 100 per cent electric Peugeot iOn, and the company plans to have 150 similar vehicles available by the end of the year.
Well the electric revolution is happening slowly, since I wrote an article here
"http://issuu.com/timadmin/docs/july2010" pg 22 – the cars have arrived on the market and are advertised on Spanish TV. Not sure if the government grants are still available. I guess renting on would be a good opportunity to try one out.
